In 1984 became a certified diver and began diving the lakes, quarries and off shore oil rigs of the Gulf Of Mexico. Diving became more than a hobby, it became a passion. After relocating to Clearwater Florida and diving the Springs, sink holes, rivers and off shore of both coast, he returned to Indiana in 1990. Still having the passion for diving and educating the public to the Underwater World, Greg opened Hart City Scuba in November of 1992. Dave Ball - PADI Instructor |
|
David was first certified in 1975 by the YMCA and dove the Chesapeake Bay (Maryland) and Outer Banks of North Carolina for several years. As his family grew, his ability to dive became less and he took about 15 years off to raise the kids (5 of them). David took up residence in Indiana in 1986 and then in 1997, the diving bug got him again and, since diving equipment had changed so much since he quit diving, he took the PADI Open Water Course and Advanced Open Water course with VI Divers (St. Croix) in the USVI. About a year later, he stumbled onto Greg's shop in Elkhart while looking for a new camper. Since then, David has completed his Rescue Diver, Divemaster, AI and Instructor courses through Greg and Hart City Scuba. David started teaching for Hart City Scuba in 2004 and works mostly in and around the Columbia City/Ft. Wayne areas. He is currently very close to receiving his PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer level through Greg and Hart City Scuba. David works as a Mechanical Designer for ITT Space Systems in Ft. Wayne and has been with them for 22 years. He is also a Volunteer Firefighter/First Responder/Fire Instructor in Whitley County and heads his department Dive Team as Captain. He is also heavily involved with the Whitley County DHS/EMA office where he works as a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Instructor. David, and his wife Cathy (a Rescue Diver herself) dive the lakes and quarries around the mid-west and often travel with Hart City on their dive adventures around the world. |
